Performance

I’ve recently been experimenting with live performance, the most exciting aspect is the feeling of removing barriers, in this case the video monitor, giving me direct access to the audience. However having an audience makes fre association difficult.

In the performance I try to become Audie Murphy the most decorated war hero and celebrated movie star. A video recording of a performance at Royal College of Art, Battersea 13.12.11

  1. Thank you… Anonymous Artist1 for your helpful comments : )
Yes if I go even deeper in to the research of Audie one would certainly get to another level of understanding, secondly if I was an actor I might even have ben able to replicate his mannerisms and persona. However my intention is not to succeed in becoming Audie – I most certainly fail in that, as you pointed out – a failure which I find interesting – For me Audie is a starting point – to where exactly I do not know, but it is a direction.

  2. You need to watch more footage of Audie to get inside his head, and understand the world he came back to after the war, but good luck, Audie would have filled the room with his presence on entry.
