Firemen

I was walking home after a night at “The Man of Kent” Rochester, when I suddenly smelt burning rubber. I followed the disgusting smell until I saw great flames leaping out of a car. At the same time a fire truck arrived. I walked closer to the flames drawn to them like a moth. I hid in the darkness watching the fire Men kill the flames with their mighty hoses.

When the flames calmed down, they smashed in the windows and looked in, the car was empty. Still the flames were not quite dead, the fire Men once again let lose the might hose. The fire Men proceeded to force up the bonnet, which I was surprised to note took some time, from their it was the oil tank and finally the boot. By this time I was finished with the beer I had in my hand and felt it was time to go home to my bed.

It was impressive to see the fire Men at work, to me they felt like the idea of real Men.
