Good entertainment

It does not come along often, but when it happens one truly feels happy after. Knowing that it can be don… fiction that captures the mind and ones imagination…

I’ve just finished reeding “The Scheme of Things” by Lester del Rey a book I picked up from a second hand store from 1966. It is not a revolutionary book, but it reminded me that not al entertainment is mindless or circus and bread for the masses.

This made me think of other books and films that have mad me feel the same way, I’l just mention the ones that come to mind immediately.

Books: “The dice man” by Luke Rhinehart or so we are led to believe, “Anansi Boys” by Neil Gaiman, “Philosophy in the Bedroom” by Marquis de Sade and “Veronika Decides to Die” by Paulo Coelho.

Films: “Lost Highway” by David Lynch, “Dark City” by Alex Proyas, “the Matrix” by the Wachowski brothers, “Brazil” by Terry Gilliam, “Solaris” by Andrei Tarkovsky, “2001: A Space Odyssey” by Stanley Kubrick and “the man from earth” which instantly is very similar to the scheme of things, not in so much in plot than in how it is constructed.
